Hi my name is David Toomeh Sports Chiropractor and Owner of My Sports Chiropractor, Kingsgrove.
During my early twenties, I was playing a high level of representative soccer. However, I was experiencing constant injuries which kept me sidelined for weeks at a time. I found this was frustrating because when I wasn’t on the field, I wasn’t enjoying my sport.
I was visiting several health professionals for regular treatment, but my injuries continued.
I was getting frustrated with the quality of the services available to me.
The final straw was when I suffered a complete rupture of my anterior crucial ligament in my knee (ACL). You can imagine this was a devastating time for me because I had to accept that my soccer career was over.
This moment in my life, as traumatic as it was, became a turning point in my future. I knew that I wanted to help people like the younger me.
I enrolled in a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and subsequently a Masters of Chiropractic both at Macquarie University where I graduated as a qualified Chiropractor. After graduating in 2012, I gained valuable experience practising in rural NSW along-side a knowledgeable sports practitioners in a multidisciplinary clinic. From this, I developed and fine-tuned my skills as a sports-based clinician.
In 2016 My Sports Chiropractor was started. My vision is to create a health-care facility that provides the highest standard of care whilst providing amazing patient experiences. I believe in identifying the cause of an injury and taking the necessary steps to prevent the injury from re-occurring, something I wish I had when I was younger.
Since opening My Sports Chiropractor in 2016, I have continued further study and accreditation. In 2017 I became an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (ICSC) through the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS).
