Have you ever sprained your wrist?
If you’ve ever experienced pain at your wrists, you’ll know how much it can impact your day-to-day activities. So, what are the symptoms?
- Dull / sharp pain in the wrist
- Swelling
- Tingling
- Reduced mobility
- Reduced grip strength
How can the team at My Sports Chiropractor help?
Chiropractic care helps manage wrist pain through manual therapy including adjustments and mobilisations to the wrist and hand, improving mobility and reducing pain. A holistic approach also addresses dysfunctions in surrounding joints and tissues, promoting overall mechanics and loading. We use soft tissue techniques including dry needling, shockwave therapy and massage to relax muscles and enhance mobility. We can provide advice and exercises to prevent further strain and improve wrist function in daily activities. (2)
If you can’t get to us right away, don’t worry! There are some simple things you can do on your own to help manage wrist pain:
- Stretch your wrist in all directions: up and down, rotating side to side. Hold each stretch for 30 seconds, resting for 20 seconds in between, and stretch both wrists evenly

- Follow the RICE method: Rest your wrist, avoid painful movements.
- Use compression to reduce swelling, such as a bandage or sports tape
- Consider wrist support like a brace or splint if needed
Wrist pain can affect everything in your daily routines. Chiropractic care offers a safe way to address not just the pain itself but also the cause behind it. If you’re experiencing wrist pain and can’t seem to get to the bottom of it, come and see us at our chiropractic clinic in Kingsgrove.
